I love leading an active lifestyle! Some of my favorite ways to stay healthy are yoga, tennis, running, hiking, and playing with my dog. I was also previously a licensed Zumba instructor and still enjoy participating in classes whenever possible.
I am passionate about animals as well and have rescued several dogs throughout my life. I am always searching for new animal rescue volunteer opportunities.
I also volunteer weekly through the La Jolla Friendly Visitors program, a branch of La Jolla Meals on Wheels. I visit a housebound senior in my community to offer companionship and help with small
tasks around her home.
Outside of my academic life, I've always loved serving my community and helping others. After twelve years as a Girl Scout, the idea of leaving my love of community service behind just felt wrong. At GW I was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, our university's only community service sorority. I love our organization and all the wonderful service we have been able to do in the Washington area.
I am an alum of the GW Residence Hall Association, in which I served as Director of Hall Development. As the DHD, I guided and advised residence hall councils as they planned events and advocated for their residence halls. I also served as head of my hall council advising team as well as operated as a liaison to the executive board on behalf of the hall councils and their advisors.
I am also an alum of WRGW District Radio, GW's student-run radio station. I started as an intern, then became Promotions Director as well as a DJ/talk show host, and was then promoted to Marketing Director. As Marketing Director I created, planned, and orchestrated all marketing events and efforts promoting WRGW, and I also hosted and DJ'd five talk and music shows during my time at the station.
